Two transformers stolen in one night, customers in trouble at Gafargaon

Consumers are in trouble after two transformers were stolen overnight from two villages in Gafargaon, Mymensingh. The theft happened in Bhurabhsia and Sadhwa villages of Niguari Union of the upazila on Thursday night.

It is known that the gang of thieves stole the village electricity transformer in that area. Thieves have taken the expensive copper wire of Bhir by leaving the shell of the transformer. In the morning, a resident finds out about the theft by seeing the broken part of the transformer under the electricity pole. Farmers are in trouble due to theft.

They are worried that irrigation will be disrupted. Local small scale industries and students are suffering.

Theft is often happening. A case is also being filed in the police station. But till now the police has not arrested anyone from the thief gang. has increased After the transformer is stolen, the customer has to pay half the cost of the transformer.

Zonal director Abdul Awal Sheikh confirmed the incident of theft and said that we have distributed miking and pamphlets in the area to prevent theft. The number of transformer thefts has increased to 29 since the beginning of this year.

Shahina Akhtar of Gafargaon zonal office of Palli Vidyut said, (Palli Vidyut Samiti-2, Gafargaon Zone) has filed a case in Pagla police station as the plaintiff in the theft incident. Work is underway to provide transformers as soon as possible to reduce the suffering of the customers.

Rasheduzzaman, OC of Pagla police station, said that the police's efforts to catch the gang of thieves are continuing.
