6-day long agricultural technology fairInagurated in Sylhet. Sylhet district administration and agriculture extension department organised this fair on Sunday (April 28) afternoon.

He said this Speech, if Bangladesh is to be self-sufficient in food, we need to improve our agriculture sector. Food is basic human need.

In order to meet this demand, the current Awami League government under the leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is making great progress in the agricultural sector.

He also said that the Bangladesh Agriculture Extension Directorate is working tirelessly to fulfill the prime minister's directive that 'not even an inch of land should remain uncultivated'. Future Bangladesh will depend on technology.

To make the country self-sufficient in food, we all have to make an agricultural revolution. Expatriate Bangladeshis need to convert their uncultivated land into crops to play a leading role in agriculture to advance the country. He urged everyone to cultivate their own land and advance the country in the name of agriculture.

Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Directorate, Agronomist Khair Uddin Mollah gave a welcome speech at the beginning of the programme.

Chairman of Sylhet Sadar Upazila Parishad Alhaj¦ Ashfaq Ahmad, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Nasrin Akhter spoke as special guests. Alimul Ehsan Chowdhury, director of Alim Industries, Abdur Rob Bubel, owner of Golapganj Alvina Garden, gold medalist agricultural entrepreneur Md. Saidur Rahman also spoke the programme.

Hafiz Maulana Jamil Siddiqui recited from the Holy Quran at the beginning of the program. Nanda Dulal recited from the Gita.

Sylhet District Training Officer, Additional Deputy Directors and Upazila Agricultural Extension Officers, BADC Officers, SDI Officers, Alim Industries Officers, members of Sylhet Nursery Welfare Organization and representatives of various private organizations were also present here.

On the occasion, guests were welcomed with flowers and crests and 6 varieties of seedlings were distributed among 100 farmers.
