Two drug dealers arrested with 800 yaba pills in Kishoreganj

The Detective Branch (DB) of Kishoreganj District Police has arrested two drug peddlers along with 800 yaba pills in a special operation. They were arrested on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway adjacent to Bhairabpur Uttarpara under Bhairab police station in Kishoreganj early on Friday.
The arrested are Md. Tajul Islam (24) of Gowainghat police station in Sylhet and Dalim Ahmed (30) of Jaintapur police station. It is believed that they have been involved in the smuggling and sale of yaba for a long time. DB Kishoreganj Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Mobarak Hossain said that they had secret information that yaba pills were being smuggled in a passenger bus. Based on the information, when a drive was conducted in Bhairabpur Uttarpara area, the accused tried to escape suspiciously while getting off the bus. Later, they were searched and 800 yaba pills were recovered and arrested.
A case has been registered under the Narcotics Control Act at Bhairab Police Station in this regard. Police said that the arrested persons are being interrogated and a drive will be launched to nab their other accomplices.
The law enforcement agencies' action in this incident is being seen as an important step against drug dealers, which has raised hopes for the prevention of drugs in Kishoreganj and surrounding areas.
