The.law enforcers have taken all necessary security measures in Kishoreganj ahead of Eid-ul-Azha to be celebrated on Monday. District Police Super (SP) of Kishoreganj, Mohammad Rasel Sheikh PMM (Bar), BPM said that, We have taken all possible measures to ensure security for a peaceful celebration of Eid,”.

“The law enforcers have planned special security measures at the prayer grounds, especially in 8 municipalities and 13 Upazilas of Kishoreganj,SP added. Against the backdrop of 2016 militant attack, the law enforcement agencies have taken special security measures at the country’s largest Eid Jamaat at Sholakia in Kishoreganj town.

A law and order review meeting at local Collectorate Conference room on Sunday morning. Deputy Commissioner (DC) also District Magistrate (DM) Md.Abul Kalam Azad presided over.

SP Mohammad Rasel Sheikh, ADM Kazi Mohua Momtaj, SP (DSB) Noor -e-Alam CS dr. Saiful Islam, NSI Joint Director, RAB Company Commonder UNOs, Executive Magistrates were also present.

DC of Kishoreganj Abul Kalam Azad said, ,Police, RAB and different intelligence agencies, both in uniform and plain clothes have been active at different strategic points in the towns , including bus terminals, railway station, river-ports, launch and ferry ghats, to prevent any problematic situation.

SP Mohammad Rasel Sheikh PMM (Bar), BPM told the New Nation that , they have also been monitoring buses, launches, trains, auto-rickshaws, cars, microbuses and other vehicles at all the strategic intersections in the town and its adjoining district to prevent crimes.

District police along with highway police has been monitoring the highways for the safe and sound journey of homeward-bound people. Law enforcement members in large numbers have been working to curb snatching, toll collection, the dope gang and other crimes.

Several mobile teams have been patrolling the town and vulnerable areas to maintain law and order. To make the security foolproof check posts have been set up at different strategic points in the district.

All officers-in-charge (OCs) of the police stations in the district have already been instructed to remain vigilant in the areas under their purview to restrict suspected criminals and their activities"
