Teenage girl gang-raped, one arrested in Habiganj

Nabiganj police have arrested a young man named Mahmud Ali (30) on charges of gang-raping a teenager in Habiganj's Nabiganj upazila. He was arrested on Thursday (July 29) and sent to jail by the court at noon. Mahmud Ali is the son of Sanjab Ali of Kadupur village in Baniachang upazila.
According to police and case details, a 14-year-old girl from Kaliarbhanga Union of Nabiganj Upazila was gang-raped on Tuesday evening (July 20) by Mahmud Ali and his accomplices in Kadupur village of Baniachang Upazila.
The accused Mahmud later took the girl to his own house and in fact Mahmud's relatives sent the girl to his father's house. When her family was informed about the rape, her relatives admitted her to Habiganj Adhunik Sadar Adhunik Hospital on Sunday (July 25). On Thursday (July 29), the girl's father filed a case with the Nabiganj police station in the morning Nabiganj police OC. A team of police led by Dalim Ahmed conducted a raid and arrested Mulhota Mahmud Ali from Rasulganj Bazar in Kaliarbhanga Union of the upazila.
