Staff shortage hits treatment at Langu Upazila Health Complex

Md. Alamgir Hossain,  Langadu (Rangamati)

Langadu Upazila Health Complex has no enough  manpower. As a result health care activities are being hampered.

However, patients are deprived of the desired service. The health complex with a 5 -bed government is the site of the treatment of millions of people in 5 unions in the upazila of the square miles. The hospital is unable to serve proportional to the population.
According to health complex sources, the 3 -bed health complex has a rule of 5 manpower and there are currently 5. As much as the manpower is required to provide minimum medical care, it is not in the present.

It is learned that the Junior Consultant (Guinea), Junior Consultant (Medicine), Junior Consultant (Surgery), Junior Consultant (Angelesia) and Medical Officer are in Rangamati in the Upazila Health Complex. In addition, there are 5 nurses, but there are 5 midwife (midwife), 2 medical technologists (lab), 3 sub-assistant community medical officer and 2 health inspector.
On the other hand, there are 4 assistant health inspector, cashier, assistant nurse, 3 health assistant, assistant garden mall, 4 office assistant cum computer operators and 4 fourth class employees.

The X -ray Mesin of the Health Complex has not yet been opened from the packet. Only one ambulance, which is almost timely wasted.

Hundreds of patients are crowded in the hope of getting medical treatment at this health complex. But many times the medicine does not even get the doctor's management in the fate of the patients. Most of the time patients have to rely on sub-assistants. X -ray and ECG machines are disadvantaged.

As a result, patients are being deprived of this service.

Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Nazmul Islam confirmed the employee's crisis and said the civil surgeon was notified orally. Being the hill area, the doctor does not want to be regular here, so the doctor goes to the crisis, yet we try our best so that people in this remote hill town get some good medical care. He also said that soon I will appeal to the senior authority to resolve the issue of manpower crisis soon.

In addition, the new building was started at the hospital in the 21st to improve the beds from that bed to 5 beds, but the contractor has not yet been handed over to the contractor. It is learned that the contractor has repeatedly changed, so the contractor could not be contacted.

Assistant Engineer of the Rangamati Health Department Md. Waliur Rahman said that the new hub will be transferred and inaugurated from the 7th to 25th of this month.
