Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Central Executive Council member and former acting secretary general and Jamaat-e-Islami's nominated national parliament member from Rangpur-2 Badarganj-Taraganj constituency ATM Azharul Islam said,  “The signing of the July Charter is a landmark event in the history of the country. Through this, the people of the country will regain their lost voting rights.”

He said these  while speaking as the chief guest at a road meeting organized by the local union branch in the Beltoli Medical More area of Kursha Union in Taraganj Upazila of Rangpur on Saturday evening, October 18. Mohammad Mohsenul Haque, President of the Kursha Union branch of Jamaat-e-Islami, presided over the authentic road meeting.

ATM Azharul Islam earlier addressed a separate rally organized by the local union branch women of Jamaat-e-Islami at the Rahimapur Madrasa ground of Kursha Union of the upazila in the afternoon under the chairmanship of Mohsinul Haque.

Jamaat-e-Islami's Badarganj Upazila Nayeb Ameer Shah Muhammad Rustam Ali, Taraganj Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer SM Alamgir Hossain, Upazila Secretary Maulana Yakub Ali, Union Secretary Maulana Al Amin, among others, spoke in the rally. 

He said that the previous fascist Awami League government wanted to stay in power by indiscriminately killing and abducting and torturing many scholars, youth, women and children of the country. In exchange for the blood of students and the public, the country has become free from oppression today. He called on everyone to vote unitedly for Islamic forces in the next election to establish peace and justice in the country and society.

ATM Azharul Islam addressed the local people and said, "We have seen many parties, this time we see Jamaat-e-Islami. We are being tested by giving them the responsibility of running our state.
