
We are not here to do politics as pet opposition party like Jatiya Party: Sarjis Alam

Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the NCP in the Northern Region, said that the NCP wants to represent the people of the future Bangladesh either as a government party or as a strong opposition party. The NCP did not come to politics to become a pet opposition party like the Jatiya Party.
He also said, there is no legal obstacle to getting the Shapla symbol, the Election Commission cannot be arbitrary with the NCP. Either the Shapla should be given, or a legal explanation should be given. If necessary, we will fight legally, we will fight politically on the streets. NCP will do politics from their place by prioritizing the interests of the people in the future Bangladesh. We believe that if we can prioritize the interests of the people, then the interests of the country will be prioritized. When we saw that the aspirations of the people needed to be implemented in this July Charter.
He made these remarks to reporters after a coordination meeting of the district and upazila committees of the NCP at the Muktijoddha Complex conference room in Joypurhat town on Monday afternoon.
Among others who spoke at the event were NCP Central Organizing Secretary Imran Emon, Joint Chief Organizer Shakib Mahdi, and District NCP Joint Coordinator Omar Ali Babu.
District and upazila leaders attended the meeting, discussed party organizational activities and determined future work plans.
