Three teachers in two jobs in Dumki

In Dumki Upazila of Patuakhali district, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSE), Dhaka, has issued show-cause letters to three teachers of Aziz Ahmed Degree College after allegations of being employed in two institutions at the same time were proven. The accused teachers are: Biology lecturer Md. Siddiqur Rahman (Index- 3079712), Bengali lecturer Shahina Akhter (Index-3079716), Islamic education lecturer Md. Mosharef Hossain (Index-3086844).
Later, on March 19, in a letter signed by Maushi Assistant Director Md. Main Uddin, the regional director of Maushi Barisal was nominated to investigate the allegations against the three teachers. The investigation report was submitted by the regional director Professor Md. Omar Faruk and three members of the representative committee. On October 7, Maushi Assistant Director Md. Main Uddin sent a letter to the Dumkir Muradia Aziz Ahmed College to explain why legal action would not be taken against the above three teachers within 7 working days as the allegations were proven.
Sources said that Md. Siddiqur Rahman was appointed to the North Muradia Bashiria Alim Madrasa in 2004 and became an MPO. He drew salary and allowance from that institution until 2010. At the same time, he was appointed to Aziz Ahmed College in 2004. Shahina Akhter drew salary and allowance from the Factory Alim Madrasa until June 2010. At the same time, he was appointed to Aziz Ahmed College in 2005. Mosharef Hossain was appointed to the Salampur Aminia Senior Madrasa and drew salary and allowance even after 2010. He also was appointed to Aziz Ahmed College in 2004. When a conflict started among themselves over the senior scale, the real information came to light. The accused lecturers commented: Md. Siddiqur Rahman: "Only the law can say whether it is a crime to be appointed to two institutions." Shahina Akhter: Did not agree to provide information to the reporter. Md. Mosharef Hossain: “I was appointed according to the provisions of 1995. I have responded to the letter showing cause.”
Aziz Ahmed College Principal Md. Ahsanul Haque said, "I have received the letter from Maushi. The teachers concerned have been informed about the letter with a reasoned explanation."
