Shaheed Abu Sayeed Book Fair begins at BRUR

Shaheed Abu Sayeed Book Fair 2025 has started at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur ( BRUR).
The university administration is organizing this book fair. The fair will continue till February 22.
On the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Md. Shawkat Ali said at a press conference in the Syndicate Room of the university's administrative building on Sunday afternoon that this year's book fair will be inaugurated by Shaheed Abu Sayeed's father Maqbul Hossain and Shaheed Felani's father Nur Hossain.
However, this time the university administration has taken the initiative to organize a book fair in the name of Abu Sayeed. After the 110th Syndicate meeting on Saturday (February 8), Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shawkat Ali confirmed this.
This book fair will be held for 7 days every year in February, the month of language, which will run from February 18 to 25. This year's fair is going to be organized entirely under the management of the administration, which has created new expectations among the students.
Students feel that this initiative of the administration will further expand the scope of the book fair and create opportunities for new experiences for readers. Begum Rokeya University student Abu Sayeed was killed in police firing during the anti-discrimination student movement on July 16 and on January 7, 2011.
