The Executive Council election-2025 of the Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University Journalist Association was held on Wednesday.
Md. Kamrul Hasan, the university correspondent of the daily Manab Zamin, was elected as the President, and Mst. Jannati Begum, the university correspondent of the daily Inqilab, was elected as the General Secretary.
The election was held at the Association’s office. Chief Election Commissioner Mohammad Irfan Aziz, Dean of the Faculty of Law, announced the results at noon. Tariqul Islam Jony and Rasheduzzaman Rony served as Assistant Election Commissioners.
Other elected members include Momin Islam Sabuj (Jago News) as Treasurer, Mutasim Billah (Campus Times) as Office Secretary, and Akhlakul Hasan Anik (Daily Tritiyo Matra) as Publicity and Publication Secretary.
Former President Fahad Bin Sayed and General Secretary Aslam Beg handed over responsibilities to the new committee. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam and other university officials attended the event.
