A seminar on higher education in France titled ‘Higher Studies in France by Campus France Bangladesh’ was held at Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building of Dhaka University on Sunday at the initiative of Dhaka University Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

French Ambassador to Bangladesh Marie Masdupuy was the chief guest at the seminar and Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin ) Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha spoke as the special guest.

The seminar was organized in collaboration with the International Centre for Ocean Governance, Expertise France Group AFD and Campus France Bangladesh.

The seminar was chaired by IQAC Director Professor Dr. M. Rezaul Islam and was attended by Cultural Attaché of the French Embassy in Dhaka Mr. Baptiste Lebret was present as a special guest. Naasiba Hossain, Country Head of Campus France Bangladesh, presented a paper on higher education in France. Dr. K. M. Azam Chowdhury, Director of the International Center for Ocean Governance, expressed his gratitude. Teachers and students from various departments participated in the question-and-answer session of the seminar.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha said, our talented students go to different countries of the world every year to pursue higher education. She expressed her hope that such seminars will benefit those interested in pursuing higher education abroad. She emphasized on launching joint cooperative education and research programs with various institutions in France, further strengthening the existing friendly relations between the two countries, and increasing the network.

Ambassador Marie Masdupui assured Bangladeshi students of all-round support in pursuing higher education in France, saying that every year more than a hundred Bangladeshi students go to France for higher education. Urging Bangladeshi female students to pursue higher education in France, she said that France has a good reputation for protecting the freedom and safety of women. She urged students to seek advice and cooperation from the French Embassy and recognized institutions rather than being misled by various fraudulent groups on the internet and online.
