A third-grade student named Kafi Khandakar (8) from Khetlal upazila in Joypurhat has been missing for nearly a week.

 The child’s disappearance has left his family and relatives devastated. Despite filing a general diary (GD) with the police and lodging complaints with various offices, no trace of the boy has yet been found. The incident has sparked widespread concern on social media across the district.

Law enforcement agencies have launched an intensive effort to locate the missing child.

Kafi Khandakar, son of Sanchay Khandakar from Shyolapara village under Khetlal upazila, is a student of Class Three at Noshirpur Daulatgazi Government Primary School.

According to family members, like any other day, Kafi was playing near his home with other children on the afternoon of April 18. While the other children returned home before evening, Kafi did not. The family searched extensively but found no trace of him. Their only son’s unexplained disappearance has left them in deep despair and uncertainty. They have urged law enforcement authorities to take swift action to find him.

Josna Khatun, a local female member of the Alampur Union Parishad, said, “After Kafi went missing, we searched everywhere, including every house in our village, but couldn’t find any clue. A GD has been filed. How long does it take the authorities to find a missing child? I urge the police and administration to act quickly and rescue the boy.”

Khetlal Police Station OC  Dipendranath Singh confirmed the filing of a general diary in connection with the incident. “Multiple police teams are working to find the missing child. The matter has also been shared with RAB and other police stations across the country. Everyone is trying their best,” he said
