26 arrested in RMP special drive, including 6 for involvement in violence, sabotage

A total of 26 individuals were arrested in a special operation conducted by Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), including six accused in cases related to attacks on anti-discrimination student protests, explosions, and other criminal activities.

Over the past 24 hours ending on Thursday , multiple coordinated raids were carried out across different parts of Rajshahi city by various police stations and the Detective Branch (DB) under RMP.

Among those arrested in the special drive are: d Yasin (70), Md Zebor Ali (50), Md Alamin (28), Md Alauddin (35), .Md Ataur Rahman Babu (48), and Md Jakir Hossain alias Abu Sayeed (32).

Md Yasin is a resident of Jagir Para under Katakhali Police Station and the son of the late Musa. He is a former president of the Awami League's Horian Union unit.
Md Zebor Ali, from Nankhola in the same police station, is the son of the late Ahar Uddin and a former general secretary of the Awami League's 6th Ward in Horian Union.
Alamin, son of Md Saidur Rahman from Ronhat area, is a former president of the Horian Union unit of Chhatra League.


Alauddin, an Awami League activist, is the son of the late Abdur Rahman from Nankhola.
Ataur Rahman is the son of the late Tasher from Kukhondi Shekhpara, while Jakir Hossain alias Abu Sayeed is the son of Md Jalal Uddin alias Mohsin Ali from Nankhola.

In addition to the six arrests mentioned above, RMP's operation led to the arrest of 20 other individuals — 12 of whom were wanted in various warrants and eight arrested over other criminal offenses.

Legal actions have been initiated against all those arrested.
