Sarjis Alam in Lalmonirhat: India’s behaviour is not satisfactory

Md. Lavlu Sheikh, Lalmonirhat

Sarjis Alam, Chief Organizer (Northern Region), National Citizen Party (NCP) said, so far, India’s behavior towards Bangladesh is not satisfactory. If India thinks they will get neighborly relations from Bangladesh with such behavior, they will never get it."

He made these remarks on Thursday in a street rally at Chourangi Mor in Patgram Upazila of Lalmonirhat.

He also said, “Blood was shed in the uprising of ’24. The one who ordered it — that killer Hasina — was sheltered by India. As long as Sheikh Hasina is sheltered in India, relations with the people of Bangladesh will not be normal. If India wants normal relations, there has to be mutual respect and honor like neighbors. There has to be equality. The people of Bangladesh will no longer accept a relationship of slavery like before.”

“Our BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh) is a fearless border force. They were held hostage by the Awami League. They were not allowed to demonstrate their full strength. They were kept inferior to the BSF. We believe our BGB has the capability to stand against any border force in the world. Capability is not just about weapons — it is about courage. It was because of that courage the people of Bangladesh achieved independence in ’71 without sufficient arms. We are telling the border guards and you — we must remain alert from our own positions.”

Sarjis Alam also said, “I will urge the interim government — there must be no compromise on the question of national sovereignty. Any kind of pushing or sending agents — we consider these conspiracies against the country. The government, administration, and the people must stay united against these. We believe if we stay united, there will be no scope for such acts.”

“The whole of Bangladesh is said to be electricity self-sufficient. There were even plans to export electricity. But under the name of projects, money has been looted from Bangladesh, and Adani of India has been enriched. Through negotiations with Indian companies, the killer Hasina’s family has taken billions in percentages from the electricity projects. This is how they steal our money and plot big conspiracies from within and outside the country. If they hadn't stolen, how could the Awami League's killer agents live such luxurious lives abroad?”

On corruption, Sarjis Alam said, “If anyone extends a hand for a bribe before offering a service — spit on that hand. No bribe-taking police officer will be tolerated in any police station. Respect the good police. No kind of corruption or irregularity will be tolerated. Some are making money by extracting stones in Patgram. Immediate action must be taken against them. Otherwise, one day Patgram might suddenly sink.”

NCP’s Joint Chief Organizer Sadia Farzana Bina, Central Organizer (Northern Region) Rasel Ahmed, NCP Lalmonirhat District Coordinator Rakibul Hasan were present. In addition, separate street rallies were addressed at Sorkha and Mission Mor in Hatibandha, Kaliganj, Aditmari, and Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazilas.
