JCD student leader stabbed to death in Joypurhat

A leader of the student wing of a political party, named Biplob Ahmed Pial (30), was killed in Joypurhat after being stabbed by unidentified assailants.
He was the Senior Joint Convener of the Joypurhat City Unit of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal ( JCD). The incident took place at around 12:30 PM on Wednesday near his home in the Islamnagar area of Joypurhat town. Joypurhat Sadar Police Station OC Nur Alam Siddique confirmed the incident.
OC Nur Alam Siddique stated that Pial was attacked and repeatedly stabbed by assailants after being lured from his home in Islamnagar, allegedly due to his opposition to drug dealing in the area. He was critically injured and taken to Joypurhat 250-Bed Modern General Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. His body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy. Preparations are underway to file a case in connection with the incident.
The killing has caused a stir in the local community. The victim’s family and political colleagues have demanded a fair and thorough investigation.
