Delwar Hossain, Bauphal (Patuakhali)
Aman cultivation has exceeded the target level in the Kharip-2 season in Bauphal under Patuakhali district.
This year, farmers are smiling as they see the Aman plantation fields. Although there is a fear of Aman planting due to the adverse weather, repeated storms, heavy rains and seed shortage, farmers are now looking around. With joy, farmers are repeatedly walking around the fields with a towel on their heads and a scythe in their hands.
They are counting the days waiting for the paddy harvest. The representative spoke to farmer Yunus Hawladar in Bilbilas village of Bauphal upazila.
This year, he has cultivated 2 acres of land. Even though the cost is high due to the seed shortage, he has not given up hope. Yunuch says, "I am a farmer. A farming family has been born." Cultivating the land and producing crops to meet the food demand is also a partner in the service and development of the area.
According to the Upazila Agriculture Office, 300 hectares of cultivation has been done more than the target level of 35,800 hectares of cultivation in Baufal Upazila.
Bauphal Upazila Deputy Agriculture Officer Md. Ansar Uddin said, the planted Aman fields are looking very good, due to disasters, adverse weather, repeated storms, heavy rains and seed shortages, Aman planting is looking good. If there is no adverse weather problem, the target level of Aman rice will be achieved.
