RCC Administrator exchanges views with GIZ representatives

Katharina Maneke, senior portfolio manager of the German development agency GIZ and Head of the Livable and Inclusive
Cities for All (LICA) Project, met and exchanged views with Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC). The meeting and exchange was held today at the RCC Administrator's Office in Nagar Bhaban here.
During the meeting, various issues related to sustainable and inclusive urban development of Rajshahi metropolis, tackling the impacts of climate change, afforestation and urban management were discussed. In addition, possibilities of cooperation and mutual coordination in the city's development activities were also discussed.
At that time, GIZ's Impression Manager Bipasha Dutta, Urban and Regional Development Adviser Shamiul Alim Shah and Forestry and Biodiversity Adviser Panchanan Kumar Dhali, RCC Secretary Sohel Rana and its Chief Conservancy Officer Sheikh Md. Mamun were present.
The RCC Administrator said that the city corporation is undertaking various activities to build Rajshahi as a modern, environment-friendly, green,
healthy and safe city.
The experience, technical assistance and cooperation of international development partner organisations can play an important role in urban
development. He expressed hope for taking more effective initiatives in the future through mutual cooperation, considering the reality and needs of Rajshahi.
