
Rally, discussion meeting in Khagrachhari on World Malaria Day

Keeping in mind the theme of "We will eradicate malaria, with new enthusiasm, new investment and new thinking", a rally and discussion meeting was held in Khagrachhari on the occasion of World Malaria Day 2025 on Thursday at around 9:30 am.
A colourful rally was brought out from the Civil Surgeon's Office premises, the rally went around the Deputy Commissioner's Office gate and ended at the Civil Surgeon's Office.
Conducted by Senior Health Education Officer Memong Marma and chaired by Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Saber, Khagrachhari Hill District Council Chairman Jiruna Tripura was present as the chief guest.
The chief guest said in the meeting that today is World Malaria Day. This day reminds us that malaria is still a major health problem, especially in the hilly regions. Khagrachari District Council is working in collaboration with the Health Department to prevent malaria. Our goal is to make all citizens aware, take effective measures to control mosquitoes and make medical services easily accessible.
Joint Secretary of the Health Department Md. Mohsin and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ferdousi Begum also spoke at the meeting. At this time, SMO of the National Malaria Eradication Program Dr. Bishwa Jyoti Chakma gave a detailed presentation. He highlighted the global and national malaria situation, the number of patients in the upazila-based hilly region and future plans.
At this time, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Ratan Khisa, Upazila Family Planning Officer Dr. Sanjeev Tripura, representatives of various NGOs including BRAC and officials and employees of the Health Department, etc
