Rally, discussion meet on Int'l Right to Information Day held in Lalmohan

International Right to Information Day was celebrated at Lalmohan in Bhola on Wednesday with the theme 'Information is my right, everyone needs to know'.

On the occasion of the day, a rally was held in front of the Lalmohan Upazila Parishad office on Wednesday noon.

The rally ended at the same place after going around the main roads of the upazila. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the upazila administration on the occasion. Upazila Women's Affairs Officer. Nur Nabi's performance and executive officer (in charge) said.

Jahidul Islam presided over the function and Alhaj Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shaon, Member of Parliament for Bhola-3 constituency spoke as the chief guest.

Among others present on the occasion were Upazila Parishad Chairman Gias Uddin Ahmed, Vice-Chairman Abul Hasan Rimon, Coast Foundation Assistant Director Rashida Begum, Agriculture Officer AFM Shahabuddin, Secondary Education Officer Md. Rafiqul Islam, primary education officer. Akhtaruzzaman Milon, members of Upazila Citizens Forum and various media personnel.

The day is observed every year to raise awareness about the right of people to free access to information. According to the decision taken by UNESCO in 2015, the first Right to Information Day was observed on 2016. ( 28September) .

With the proliferation of information and communication technology services, UNESCO is emphasizing that no one should be left behind due to digital inequality.
