An indefinite strike has been announced by the Railway Pakshi Divisional Controllers if their demands for four advance increments are not met by November 24.
On Thursday morning, DTNL Abdul Hamid made this announcement on behalf of all TNL, DTNL and CTNL working in the Railway at the Pakshi Divisional Railway Controller's Office.
He said that the 4 advance increments previously received by the train controllers (TNL, DTNL, CTNL) working in Bangladesh Railway were canceled through the office order dated 24/07/2022 and the strike was announced by all levels of Bangladesh Railway on 22/10/24 demanding their reinstatement. He said, "As the Financial Advisor and Finance Secretary were out of the country at the time, the Additional Director General (Operations) of Bangladesh Railway requested to suspend the strike for one month.
In view of that request, the Train Controller's Association suspended the strike on 22/10/2024 based on our clear commitment to make every effort to issue a notification on our behalf." But no office order or notification has been issued in this regard till date. In this situation, if a notification regarding the restoration of 4 advance increments is not issued by 24.11.2024, all controllers of Bangladesh Railway will observe a strike from 25.11.2024.
At the same time, Abdul Hamid further announced that if any train is delayed or if there is disruption in train movement or schedule disruption due to the strike, the train controllers will not be responsible.
