Protesters block convoy of CA's Principal Secretary, PD of power plant in Kalapara

The convoy of the Principal Secretary Saifullah Panna of the Chief Adviser Office and the Project Director (PD) Kamruzzaman, who came to visit the Ashuganj Power Plant Project in Kalapara, Patuakhali, was blocked by relatives of the victim's family.
Later, the protesters set fire to the effigy of the project director. The incident took place at 10 am on Saturday in the project area of Dhankhali Union of the upazila.
At that time, they were accompanied by Divisional Commissioner Md. Kausar, Patuakhali DC Abu Hasnat Mohammad Arefin, Kalapara UNO Md. Rabiul Islam, Western Engineer's project director, Diesel Power Plant director, MM Builds chairman and other senior officials of the district.
The human chain and protest rally, held with the participation of more than four hundred affected family members, was addressed by UP member Al-Mamun, former UP member Firoz Talukder and Anasar Uddin Molla, Asaduzzaman Alamgir.
At this time, the speakers said that although 80 percent of the project work has been completed, more than four hundred families have not yet paid the price of their houses. The affected family members are being harassed on various pretexts, including wasting time.
Demanding immediate payment of their fair dues, the speakers also said that no work can continue in the project area until their demands are met.
