Protest at Ctg Tiger Pass demanding ban on ISKCON, quick justice for lawyer murder

Chattogram City Correspondent

A protest organized by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement was held on Wednesday at Tiger Pass in Chattogram, where coordinator Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam demanded the immediate ban of ISKCON, alleging its involvement in destabilizing the country.

Hasnat Abdullah stated, “The extremist Hindutva group ISKCON has brutally murdered lawyer Saiful Islam Alif. Acting as agents of the ruling Awami League, they are disrupting the nation’s peace. While all religions coexist harmoniously in Bangladesh, there is no room for extremism. ISKCON's barbarity must be stopped immediately.”

Sarjis Alam added, “The common Sanatani community in Bangladesh is peaceful, but the agents of authoritarian Hasina are provoking ISKCON to destabilize the country. However, as long as we stand united, their conspiracies will fail. We are ready to take to the streets, just as we did in July and August, to resist fascist aggression.”

The speakers demanded the swift arrest and legal action against those directly and indirectly involved in the murder of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif. They emphasized that the student community remains vigilant against extremism and will continue their movement to uphold peace and justice.

Students from various institutions participated in the protest, voicing strong opposition to religious extremism.
