Plantation campaign, Tree Fair inagurated in Kalai by Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud

Under the auspices of Kalai Upazila Administration of Joypurhat district, a 3-day (25–27 July) Tree Plantation Campaign and Tree Fair 2026 was held at the Upazila Parishad Shaheed Minar premises on Saturday afternoon.
The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Freedom Fighter Iqbal Hasan Mahmud MP, Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources.
Presided over by the Deputy Commissioner of Joypurhat, Md. Al-Mamun Miah, and supervised by the Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Kalai, Abdullah-Al-Mahbub, the inaugural ceremony, discussion meeting, cultural program, and the closing and award distribution ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Sheikh Mohammad Mamunur Rashid, Pesh Imam and Khatib of Kalai Upazila Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center.
Md. Abdul Bari MP,, State Minister for Ministry of Public Administration and the Ministry of Food, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, delivered an important speech as the Special Guest.
Besides , key speeches were delivered by officials of various levels, political figures, heads of educational institutions, and distinguished members of the community. Notably, both Ministers individually planted two tree saplings and distributed a large number of saplings among the students.
