Patibila Secondary School Headmaster Sheikh Waliur Rahman injured in terror attack in Chaugachha

Sheikh Waliur Rahman, Headmaster of Patibila Haji Shahjahan Ali Secondary School in Chaugachha upazila of Jashore, was seriously injured after being attacked by local terrorists inside his office during school hours on Sunday.
According to local sources, the attackers intentionally disabled the office's CCTV cameras before launching the assault on Sunday afternoon. Upon receiving news of the attack, Chaugachha police personnel rescued the injured headmaster and admitted him to the Chaugachha Upazila Government Model Hospital for medical treatment.
Speaking about the incident, Headmaster Sheikh Waliur Rahman stated that he lodged a written complaint with the local police station and demanded justice alongside support from teachers, students, parents, and community members. Beyond his role as headmaster, Rahman serves as an associate editor for the daily Jashore Barta, a member of Press Club Chaugachha, and a former member of the Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee.
Chaugachha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mamunur Rashid confirmed the incident and stated that a police investigation is underway to identify the motive and apprehend those involved. Meanwhile, civic leaders and members of the Jashore Barta family, including Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Shawkat Ali, former Secretary Rashedul Islam, Press Club Chaugachha leaders, and Rural Journalists Forum representatives, issued a joint statement condemning the attack on the teacher and journalist, demanding the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the perpetrators.
