Dohar Upazila Administration intervened to halt the unauthorized construction of commercial shop structures on government-owned land adjacent to the Malikanda Christian Graveyard Road under Dohar upazila in Dhaka district following allegations of illegal land grabbing.

Investigative details revealed that the land in question—spanning 70 decimals under Khatian No. 344, R.S. Plot No. 57 in Malikanda Mouza of Narisha Union—is classified as government vested or khas property with an estimated market value of Tk 30 crore. According to local residents, the plot was originally encroached upon during the previous Awami League administration by Dr. Shahjahan and his brother-in-law Khalil. Following political shifts, Khalil and his associates demolished the initial tin-shed structures and initiated the construction of multiple permanent concrete buildings, frequently carrying out work under the cover of night without legal authorization or land lease agreements from the Ministry of Land or the Deputy Commissioner's office.

Upon receiving public complaints, a administrative team led by Dohar UNO  Md. Maidul Islam and Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Naosheen Arif conducted an on-site drive and ordered an immediate cessation of all construction activities. Local residents called for the prompt eviction of the encroachers, recovery of the state property, and strict legal proceedings against those involved.

Commenting on the ownership status, Dohar Sadar Land Officer Md. Nazrul Islam stated that the land remains unleased property under the full jurisdiction of the government. Dohar UNO  Md. Maidul Islam and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Naosheen Arif confirmed that administrative investigations are underway, assuring that formal legal action and eviction measures will be taken against the illegal occupants.
