Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Minister and Bandarban-300 MP Rajputra Saching Prue called upon people across all political and community affiliations to work together to ensure peace, harmony, and sustainable prosperity in the CHT region.

Minister Saching Prue delivered the call as the chief guest during a series of view-exchange meetings held on the occasion of his first official visit to border-adjacent Naikhongchhari upazila in Bandarban district on Thursday afternoon. 

Highlighting the strategic importance of the border area, Minister Saching Prue stated on Thursday that Naikhongchhari is a geographically and strategically sensitive zone. 

Referring to the diverse social structure of the Hill Tracts, the CHT Minister noted that maintaining mutual respect, tolerance, and social harmony is essential for long-term peace in the region.

Attending a special law and order meeting presided over by Naikhongchhari UNO  Mohammad Enamul Hasan, Minister Saching Prue issued directives to enforce a zero-tolerance policy against cross-border smuggling, modernize transport infrastructure, and strengthen border security. 11 BGB (Naikhongchhari Battalion) Zone Commander Lieutenant Colonel Faizul Karim and top administrative officials attended the session.

During the visit, the Minister released fish fry into the Katchari Pond on the upazila parishad premises to boost local aquatic production and instructed officials to extend support to local fish farmers.

Exchanging views with religious leaders at a local Buddhist Vihara in Naikhongchhari, Minister Saching Prue stressed the importance of strengthening interfaith coexistence across the Hill Tracts.

Later, the Minister interacted with local political leaders and community elders on the Naikhongchhari Upazila Rest House premises.
