Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal referred to lack of ethics, neglect of duty and evasion of work as a bigger corruption than financial corruption and said that if corruption is to be eradicated from the society, people's psychological changes should be made.

He said this in the speech of the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the 4-day long 'Anti-corruption Moot Court' competition at the seminar room of the Law Department on Wednesday. Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) and Dhaka University Moot Court Society (DUMCS) jointly organized the competition.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal called upon the teachers, researchers and students to give maximum importance to research and said that all the universities of the country should work unitedly in the field of knowledge management.

He said, if new knowledge is not created, the university does not have transparency. To ensure the transparency of the university, he sought the cooperation of all including teachers, students, officials and said that if the educational institution is transparent, other institutions will also be transparent. He said, with the aim of making Dhaka University an international standard university, practice of practical knowledge should be increased. He expressed hope that by participating in the moot court competition, students will be able to analyze anti-corruption issues from an academic perspective.

It should be noted that the students of 20 public and private universities of the country including Dhaka University are participating in this moot court competition.
