The 36th and 37th Annual General Meetings of the Narayanganj Chamber of Commerce and Industries (NCC&I) was hekd on Saturday at Bandhan Community Center in Narayanganj.

The annual meeting was presided over by Masuduzzaman, the President of NCC&I, who is also the Managing Director of Model Group and a founding director of Citizen Bank PLC. Other attendees included Senior Vice-President Morshed Sarwar Sohel, Vice-President Sohel Akhtar Sohan, directors Zakaria Wahid, Mahbubur Rahman Swapan, Ashiqur Rahman, Selim Hossain, and Saiful Islam Masum, among others.

During the meeting, unanimous approvals were obtained for the reports of the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 fiscal years, along with the proposed budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. At the start, the president of NCC&I read a written report, and with the members' consent, the appointment and remuneration of NCC&I’s auditor for 2024-2025 were confirmed.

In his address, NCC&I President Masuduzzaman urged the business community to engage in constructive criticism rather than personal attacks. “I didn’t come here to tarnish my reputation. I am committed to serving you. As long as I’m here, I won’t tolerate corruption in any form,” he said. He added that he had promptly reviewed the accounts and ensured that audits were conducted properly.

Despite Narayanganj Chamber being an A-class chamber, financial challenges exist. However, they keep membership fees low to avoid burdening the general business community.

“You are the guardians of this organization,” he continued, assuring his constant support for the business community.
