The program was organized on the occasion of International Lead Pollution Prevention Week 2024 from 20th October to 26th October.

On Saturday afternoon, Youth Net Global and Pure Earth Bangladesh held a human bonding program. UNICEF Bangladesh cooperated in this.

At that time, Superintendent of Police of Tourist Police Kuakata Region Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad, District Coordinator of Youth Net Global Md. Zahidul Islam, teachers and students of Bangabandhu Secondary School and people from various professions were present in the human chain.

During the human chain, the organizers said that lead is a toxic heavy metal that is harmful to everyone. Especially for children and pregnant women. Lead destroys the child's brain, resulting in reduced intelligence, learning delays, physical growth and other problems. About 36 million children in Bangladesh ie about 60 percent of children are affected by lead poisoning. Many things we use every day can contain lead, such as aluminum and ceramic utensils, wall paint, children's toys, etc. Also lead pollution is spread from unsafe, open open lead-acid battery breaking and lead smelting recycling factories. In such a situation, it is necessary to create a lead-free safe environment for children and to raise awareness about this and collectively to prevent lead pollution.
