National Local Government Day celebrated in Bandarban

National Local Government Day was celebrated in Bandarban with the slogan “Youth’s commitment, local government in public service”.
On the occasion of the day, a colorful rally was organized by the Bandarban District Administration in collaboration with the Bandarban Municipality on Tuesday morning from in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The rally was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ara Rini. Later, the rally went around the main roads of the city and ended at the Municipality office, where a discussion meeting was held.
The meeting was chaired by Bandarban Municipality Administrator S.M. Manjurul Haque, and was attended by Assistant Commissioner (NDC) of the District Administration Asif Raihan, Executive Engineer of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) Mohammad Tasaur, officials of the district administration, municipality, various government departments, representatives of civil society and media workers.
The speakers at the meeting said, the stronger the local government, the more services the people will receive. Care should be taken that no one is subjected to suffering while taking services. The speakers called on everyone to be vigilant so that the public gets all the facilities and services of the local government.
