MP Nasser Rahman’s plaque revealed after 16-year in M'bazar

Local BNP activists uncovered an inaugural plaque bearing the name of former MP M. Nasser Rahman at the No. 12 Giasnagar Union Parishad building, where it had reportedly been concealed behind a glass frame since 2016.
The building was originally inaugurated by MP M. Nasser Rahman in October 2006. According to local BNP leaders, former Union Chairman Golam Mostafa covered the plaque with glass following his 2016 election victory, and his son, current Chairman Golam Mosharraf Titu, later installed his own nameplate beside it after a 2022 building renovation. On July 26, BNP activists smashed the glass cover to reveal the original plaque and removed Titu's plaque. A video of the incident subsequently went viral on social media.
In response, Chairman Titu released a video statement denying responsibility, claiming the original plaque was already covered before he took office in 2021 and stating his nameplate was installed to mark structural renovations rather than the building's inauguration.
