DU Correspondent

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Dhaka (DU) and Yuxi Normal University, China was signed on wednesday at DU VC Office Lounge. Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal and President of Yuxi Normal University Prof. Duan Hongyun singed the MoU on behalf of their respective university.

Treasurer of DU Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, Dean of DU Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Md. Abdus Samad and Dean of DU Faculty of Arts Prof. Dr. Abdul Bashir were present on this occasion. Besides, Yuxi Normal University Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Science Prof. Li Zhouhong, Dean of School of International Culture and Study Prof. Yang Chun, Deputy Director of Office of Academic Affairs Prof. Tang Jinli, Deputy Dean of Faculty of Teacher Education Prof. Yin Sumei and Director of DU Confucius Institute Dr. Yang Hui were also present at the MoU signing function.

According to the MoU, DU and Yuxi Normal University will jointly conduct collaborative academic and research activities. Besides, two universities will jointly organize seminar, symposium, workshop, conference and training programs. The two sides will also exchange faculty members, students and researchers as well as information and research materials under this MoU.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal thanked the Yuxi Normal University President Prof. Duan Hongyun for signing the MoU and hoped that the two universities would be highly academically benefited by this initiative. He appraised the President of Yuxi Normal University of DU history and academic programs in brief.

This MoU will play an effective role to promote academic and research collaboration between DU and Yuxi Normal University.The bi-lateral existing friendly relationship between Bangladesh and China will be further strengthened through these joint academic and research collaboration, he hoped.
