Meeting of UN delegation with DU VC

Senior Human Rights Advisor of the UN Resident Coordinator Office in Dhaka Huma Khan called on Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz met Ahmad Khan in his office on Thursday evening.
Human Rights Officer of the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office. Zahid Hossain was with him at that time.
During the meeting, Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Professor Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha, Treasurer Prof. Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmad were present.
During the meeting, Mr. United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. Falkar Turk's upcoming visit to Dhaka, visit to Dhaka University campus and his meeting with coordinators and students of pre-24 uprising student movement at Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhavan were discussed. The quota reform movement, the student uprising and human rights violations during the post-coup period were also discussed in the meeting with the Dhaka University investigation team working together with the United Nations fact-finding team.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan said, an investigation committee has already been formed in the university to identify those involved in the brutal incident of July-August in Dhaka University campus. He said that the investigation committee will provide all possible assistance to the United Nations fact-finding team to bring the criminals to justice.
