Meeting held to implement automated, secure exam management at BOU

The first meeting of the ICT Implementation Monitoring Committee (IIMC), formed to introduce an ICT-based automated and secure examination management system at Bangladesh Open University (BOU), was held on Sunday at the university’s Gazipur campus.
The meeting was presided over by the honorable Vice-Chancellor of BOU, Professor Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized that ensuring transparency, security, and timeliness in examination management requires the adoption of ICT-based automation.
He stated that the initiative marks an important step in the digital transformation of the university.
It was informed in the meeting that photo-embedded admit cards and unique attendance sheets have already been successfully introduced from the BA and BSS examinations of 2024. Efforts are also underway to automate the result processing and verification system under a modern Examination Management System (EMS). To enhance data security, role-based access control and encryption-enabled security policies are being implemented.
Additionally, the committee took a policy decision to establish an ICT Implementation Team, Support Cell, and Call Center to ensure more efficient examination operations.
The meeting was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof Dr. Dil Rowshan Jinnat Ara Najnin, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin.) Prof Saeed Ferdous, Treasurer Prof Dr. Abul Hasnat Md. Shamim, and ICT Consultant Md. Muminul Islam.
