Mashrafe keeps door for next BPL open

Sylhet Strikers skipper Mashrafe bin Mortaza is not ruling out the possibility of taking part in next year's Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the country’s lone franchise-based T20 event.
The Sylhet captain had earlier admitted that it's ‘not an ideal situation’ for him to play in the ongoing BPL 2024 amidst criticism over his fitness.
However, Mashrafe, who bowled well against Comilla Victorians giving away only 19 runs in four overs on Friday, looked determined not to say goodbye to domestic cricket just right at the moment.
“If my legs are doing well, then maybe yes (will feature in next BPL),” the former national skipper told reporters following their 52-run loss to defending champions Comilla at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
“I want to do it my way. If I could play with my full intensity similar to what I did in the previous season, then I would give a thought about my future. Since I am not able to give my full, I have to think about it later,” he concluded.
