Madaripur-1 (Shibchar) : Rickshaw's historic victory, MP Hanzala calls for unity in Friday sermon

Mir Imran, Madaripur

Saeed Uddin Hanzala has won the Madaripur-1 (Shibchar) constituency with the 'rickshaw' symbol in the 13th National Parliament election. He participated in the election as the nominated candidate of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis and won by a significant margin in a short campaign.

The newly elected MP is a sixth-line descendant of renowned Islamic thinker Haji Shariatullah (RA). After his victory, he himself delivered the Friday sermon and led the congregation of lakhs of people at the traditional Bahadurpur ground in Shibchar on Friday.

The presence of religious people creates a festive atmosphere in the entire area.

Local dignitaries including his father Pirzada Haji Mubin Uddin Ahmed (Naoshin Mia), uncle Pirzada Alhaj bin Yamin and cousin Abdullah Mohammad Hussain were present at the Friday prayers.

While exchanging views with journalists after the prayers, MP Hanzala said, "I am sincerely grateful to the expatriates and young voters. The huge victory achieved in a large upazila like Shibchar in just 18 days of campaigning, almost at no cost, is the result of the love of the people."
He further said, "This was a very important election compared to the past in Shivchar. The common people voted peacefully, this is my biggest achievement. This is not just my victory, but the victory of the people of Shivchar and the expatriate brothers."

He told reporters, "Just because I became an MP doesn't mean you shouldn't write against me. Your writing will be there to point out my mistakes."

You will write where I do wrong. There is never any question of threatening you.

Your freedom is most important to me. Present true and objective news - my support will always be with you.

The newly elected MP promised to develop Shibchar Upazila as an extortion and drug-free, education-friendly and peaceful town. He also pledged to strongly highlight issues related to the interests of expatriates in parliament.

On the second day of the victory, there was a lot of enthusiasm in the area surrounding the Friday prayers and public gathering held at Bahadurpur ground. According to locals, Shibchar witnessed a new atmosphere after a long time with such a large religious and political gathering.
The victory of newly elected MP Saeed Uddin Hanzala is causing a wave of joy among his supporters. Shibchar is now facing new discussions in anticipation of development plans and political unity.
