LGED office launches ceaning drive, plantation campaign to prevent dengue in Chapainawabganj

The Executive Engineer’s Office of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) in Chapainawabganj has undertaken a cleaning drive and tree plantation campaign to prevent dengue and maintain environmental balance.
Under the initiative of Executive Engineer Md. Harun-or-Rashid, the office premises, flower gardens and vacant spaces are being kept clean, while new trees are being planted. Regular cleaning activities are being conducted with the participation of office officials and employees to eliminate potential breeding grounds for Aedes mosquitoes and prevent the spread of dengue.
Special attention is being given to ensuring that water does not accumulate anywhere around the office building and that discarded containers do not become breeding sites for mosquitoes.
At the same time, the office has taken steps to create a greener environment by planting trees in vacant spaces around the building. In line with the government's target of planting 250 million trees over five years, the LGED office is also participating in the tree plantation initiative. Officials concerned expect these activities to contribute to environmental conservation, biodiversity protection and an improved working environment.
Speaking on the initiative, LGED Chapainawabganj Executive Engineer Md. Harun-or-Rashid said, “Maintaining a clean environment is essential for preventing dengue. Therefore, we have taken steps to regularly clean the office building and its surrounding areas with the participation of our officials and employees. Special attention is being given to preventing water accumulation that could create breeding grounds for Aedes mosquitoes.”
He further said that new trees were being planted in vacant spaces around the office building to maintain environmental balance and create a greener workplace. Such initiatives to prevent dengue and protect the environment will continue, he added.
He also urged everyone to keep their homes, offices and surrounding areas clean and tidy.
