Plantation campaign on 8.5 km road initiated by Betagi LGED

With the slogan "Beautify the country by planting trees, Bangladesh comes first", a tree planting program was organized by Betagi LGED under the initiative of the 250 million national tree planting program in 5 years across the country.
On Thursday (October 29), six species of saplings were planted along an eight and a half kilometer stretch of the Betagi to Neymati highway in Betagi upazila. About 500 saplings of fruit, forest and medicinal trees were planted on both sides of the road.
The chief guest at the event was Barguna District Executive Engineer Md. Mehedi Hasan Khan. UNO Muha: Saddam Hossain presided over the event. Betagi Upazila Engineer Sheikh Toufiq Aziz, Assistant Engineer Md. Monir Hossain were also present.
Upazila Engineer Sheikh Toufiq Aziz said, "This tree planting campaign will help in achieving the goal of planting 250 million trees in the next five years. Our tree planting campaign will continue in the future to maintain the environment and enhance the beauty of the roads."
