GM Mohsin Reza with motorcycle symbol, has been unofficially elected to the post of chairman in the postponed 6th upazila parishad election in Koyra, Khulna.

He got 35917 votes in 67 centers, his nearest rival SM Shafiqul Islam of Pine Apple Symbol got 27323 votes. Anadi Sana of horse symbol got 3554 votes. There were 3 candidates for the post of chairman.

Asvocate Md. Mehdi Hasan was privately elected to the post of vice chairman with the lock symbol. He got 24063 votes, his nearest rival Md Arafat Hossain of Tubewell symbol got 19363 votes, SM Abdur Razzak of Gogles symbol got 4892 votes, Sheikh Rashid of Book symbol got 4004 votes, Kamlesh Kumar Sana of Parrots symbol got 3755 votes, Abdur Rob Khokon of Palki symbol Got 2817 votes, Dilip Kumar Bairagi got 3010 votes for electric bulb symbol, Md. Didarul Islam got 1913 votes for Mike symbol, Md. Shafiqul Islam Molla got 1700 votes for airplane symbol. There were 9 candidates for the post of Vice Chairman.

On the other hand former female vice chairman Nasima Alam has been re-elected as female vice chairman with duck symbol. He got 33891 votes, his rival Neelima Rani Chakraborty of football symbol got 16717 votes and Ayesha Khatun of Jar symbol got 14058 votes, Assistant Returning Officer and Koira Upazila Executive Officer Mr. BM Tariq Uzzaman announced this result on Sunday night.

Koyra upazila consists of 7 unions. The total number of voters in this upazila is 1 lakh 78 thousand 537 people. Among them 88 thousand 16 female voters and male voters are 90,320 and third gender 01 voters in this upazila. The voting rate is 38.18 percent.
