Kishoreganj District Bar Assoc : President Shahid, Secretary Ratan elected

Adv Md. Shahidul Alam Shahid has been elected as the President for the third time and Adv Md. Aminul Islam Ratan has been elected as the General Secretary for the fifth time in the Kishoreganj District Bar Association election.
The Chief Election Commissioner of the Kishoreganj District Bar Association election, Adv SM Mahbubur Rahman, announced the results at 11.30 pm on Wednesday after counting the votes.
Voting began at 10 am on Wednesday and continued uninterruptedly until 4 pm. Out of 606 voters, 537 lawyers exercised their right to vote in the election.
Adv Md. Shahidul Alam Shahid received 441 votes for the post of President. His nearest rival Advocate Alauddin Ahmed (Independent) received 80 votes. Advocate Aminul Islam Ratan received 291 votes for the post of General Secretary. His closest rival Sheikh Shahidul Islam Humayun received 134 votes.
The winning candidates of the Awami League-backed Combined Lawyers Council are President Md. Shahidul Alam, Vice-President Abdur Rashid Bhuiyan, unopposed member Kafil Uddin, Md. Sarwar Jahan Sunny and Md. Sohag Mia.
The winning candidates from the BNP-backed Nationalist Lawyers Forum panel are General Secretary Md. Aminul Islam Ratan, Vice-President Md. Manik, Deputy General Secretary Nadira Sultana Soma, Shahinur Koli, Library Secretary Md. Abdullah Al Bokhari, Cultural Secretary A.M. Chajjadul Haque, Auditor Abu Bakkar Siddique, Unopposed member Md. Abu Taher Harun and Mohammad Ahsanuzzaman Nasir.
