Khagrachhari Region Commander Brigadier General KM Obaidul Haque said, planting a tree means creating a safe haven for future generations.

 A tree is not just a tree, but a symbol of pure oxygen and the safety of biodiversity. Trees do not harm humans, but rather bear fruit, give flowers, give shade, each tree provides life. Whose contribution to maintaining the balance of the environment is very important.

He said these while attending the inauguration ceremony of  plantation programme  organized at the Khagrachhari Government College grounds at 11:30 am on Sunday  as the chief guest.

Khagrachhari Army Zone organized the tree plantation program with the overall support of 203 Infantry Brigade Khagrachhari Region. Khagrachhari Hill District Council Chairman Shefalika Tripura, Khagrachhari Zone Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md. Aminur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Kamrul Islam, Mahalchhari Zone Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md. Al-Jabir Asif, Khagrachhari Region Staff Officer (G-2-I) Major Kazi Mostafa Arefin, District Forest Officer Md. Farid Miah, etc. were present as special guests at the event.

Immediately after the inauguration ceremony, a colorful procession was taken out to raise public awareness. The procession circled the important roads of the city and ended at Chengi Square.  

Region Commander Brigadier General KM Obaidul Haque said that the month-long tree plantation program has been inaugurated by the army to protect the environmental balance, conserve and expand the forest area, and avoid climate risk.

Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension Md. Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, District BNP General Secretary MN Absar, Organizing Secretary Abdur Rob Raja, Joint Secretary Mosharraf Hossain, Social Worker S Anant Bikash Tripura, Mrasathwai Marma and other dignitaries of various levels were present.
