Junior Tamim picks up second ODI half-century
Sports Desk
Opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim (Junior Tamim) picked up his second ODI half-century to keep Bangladesh well ahead of the required rate in their 237-run chase against Sri Lanka in the series-deciding third ODI in Chattogram today.
Although Tanzid is batting in a good fashion, other opener Anamul Haque and skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto departed cheaply.
Shanto became the second victim of pacer Lahiru Kumara in the 11th over, swinging his bat at a wide delivery only to edge the ball to keeper Kusal Mendis. After the skipper departed for one, Towhid Hridoy who hit an unbeaten 96 in the second ODI, joined Tanzid.
Tanzid completed his half-century off 51 balls with a single off Hasaranga. The left-hander has so far laced six fours and two sixes but is struggling to rotate the strike since the first Power Play.
