July Mass Uprising Day : Reminiscences of foreign students at DU International Hall

A commemorative program was organized by the Sir P. J. Hartog International Hall, Dhaka University, to commemorate the second anniversary of the historic July Uprising, on Thursday evening at the hall auditorium. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam was present as the chief guest at the program.
The function was presided over by the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) of the University of Dhaka, Professor Dr. Abdus Salam, Chairman of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council, Prof Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain Khan, Former Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof Dr. Sadrul Amin, and the former Pro-Chancellor of Sir P. J. Hartog International Hall, Professor Dr. Md. Mohiuddin, spoke as special guests. The foreign students of the hall reminisced about the July Uprising.
At that time, Bangladesh University Grants Commission Member Prof Dr. Md. Aslam Hossain, National University Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Md. Lutfar Rahman, Salimullah Muslim Hall Provost Professor Dr. Md. Abdus Salam, Proctor Md. Israfil Prang, along with teachers and students were present.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam said that during the July Movement, teachers and students of Dhaka University were involved in the movement in various ways. The history of courage, sacrifice and self-sacrifice of the students who participated in the movement will inspire foreign students.
He called on everyone to learn from the history of the July Uprising and work to establish justice, equality, and fundamental human rights.
