Journalist Nasir Uddin injured : Allegation of taking Tk 2.2 lakh after road accident in Gazipur, subsequent attack claimed

Journalist Nasir Uddin, Gazipur District Correspondent of Green TV and City Correspondent of The Country Today, was injured in a road accident while traveling with his family to Gausia for shopping for his son’s wedding. Several members of his family, including his mother and child, were also injured in the accident and are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
According to the complaint, the family was traveling from the Gazipur By-pass area toward Gausia when the private car they were traveling in met with an accident at around 12:45 p.m. Several family members sustained injuries, while Nasir Uddin was also seriously injured. Local people reportedly rescued them and took them to a hospital.
The complaint said, Tk 220,000 (BDT 220,000) kept inside the vehicle was taken away by several influential local individuals after the accident. The complainant claims that the incident was captured on video camera.
Upon receiving information about the accident, SI Sarwar of Basan Police Station went to the scene. He reportedly spoke with people in the surrounding area and collected information about the incident. The injured were later taken to hospital for medical treatment.
The complaint further alleges that a group of 8 to 10 people, allegedly led by a person named Imran, subsequently attacked them. Citing security concerns, a written complaint was filed with Basan Police Station under Gazipur Metropolitan Police, seeking legal action.
The complainant’s side has demanded a fair investigation into the incident, a review of the available video footage to establish the facts, and legal action against those responsible.
Meanwhile, colleagues, relatives and well-wishers have been requested to pray for the speedy recovery of injured journalist Nasir Uddin and his family members.
