A three-day professional training workshop on victim support services and management for 25 caregivers of the Child Development Centre (Girls) in Konabari, Gazipur, concluded on Thursday.

The program was organized by International Justice Mission (IJM) Bangladesh in partnership with the Department of Social Services (DSS) under a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening institutional capacity to address the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC).

Attending the closing ceremony as chief guest, Director (Institution) of DSS Md. Kamruzzaman stressed that effective rehabilitation depends on active listening, empathetic caregiving, and multi-agency coordination. Assistant Director of the Konabari Training and Rehabilitation Centre for Destitute Children Mohammad Borhan Uddin presided over the event.

Gazipur District Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) Tania Tabassum and IJM Bangladesh Country Director Claire Wilkinson attended as special guests. Wilkinson highlighted that synchronized efforts among police, prosecutors, legal professionals, and institutional caregivers remain vital to protecting vulnerable children and disrupting exploitation networks.

The capacity-building module provided practical instruction for case workers, counselors, teachers, trade instructors, probation officers, and medical personnel.
