Journalist Abusaleh Shojib's mother passes away in Mirzapur

Asma Begum, mother of Abusaleh Shojib, Secretary of the Mirzapur Upazila Branch of the National Reporters Club of Tangail and the district correspondent of the national daily Bhorer Darpan, News Ekush Channel and the upazila correspondent of the national daily Country Today has passed away (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun) on Sunday (March 30) morning at her home in Bawar Kumarjani village.
She had been suffering from gallstones, jaundice and tumors for a long time. It is known that she had been undergoing treatment in various hospitals before that.
She was 49 years old at the time of her death. Her son is studying for honors at the National University. Honors studies are almost over. She passed away leaving behind her husband, only son, and numerous relatives and admirers.
On the last day of Ramadan, Sunday, the first funeral was held at the Ambatun Nesa Model School grounds and the second funeral was held after Zuhor at the Bawar Kumarjani Madhya Para Jame Mosque in Ward No. 5 of Sadar. After the funeral prayers, she was buried in the social central graveyard of her village.
Former MP Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui and the president of the organization and all the members of the executive committee of the National Reporters Club expressed sympathy over the death.
Mirzapur UNO Md. ABM Ariful Islam and Assistant Commissioner Land Executive Magistrate Md. Masudur Rahman, various political leaders and others prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family members.
Mirzapur Press Club General Secretary Md. Harun Or Rashid and former president journalist Jahangir Hossain expressed deep condolences to the family.
In this regard, his son journalist Abusaleh Shojib said, "I seek prayers from everyone and may Allah Almighty grant my mother Jannatul Firdaus in the holy month of Ramadan."
