Jagannath University (JnU) has decided to hold its admission tests independently, stepping away from the integrated cluster admission system. To facilitate this process, an 11-member committee has been established, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Rezaul Karim, with the Registrar serving as the secretary.
This decision was reached during an Academic Council meeting led by the Vice-Chancellor on Monday. Acting Registrar Professor Dr. Sheikh Gias Uddin confirmed the development.
The Registrar explained that, as in previous years, the newly formed committee will implement the admission tests for the 2024-25 academic year using JNU's own methodology. The committee is expected to begin preparations for the admission tests shortly.
Discussions with several members of the Academic Council revealed that faculty members have been advocating for the university to break away from the cluster system and conduct its own admissions. In light of these requests, the decision was made collectively by the council members, leading to the formation of the committee.
