Application for admission to undergraduate programs at DU starts on Nov 4

The online application process for admission to the undergraduate program in Dhaka University for the academic year 2024-2025 will start on Monday 04 November 2024 at 12 noon. The online application process will end on Monday 25 November 2024 at 11:59 PM.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting at Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhavan Auditorium in the general admission committee meeting on Monday .

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan presided over the meeting.

In the meeting, the University's Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Professor Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof. Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Treasurer Professor. Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, convener of online admission committee, deans of various faculties, principals of various halls, chairman of various departments, directors of various institutes and related officers were present.

In the academic year 2024-2025, the admission test will be held in 'Undergraduate Programme' through 4 units. The units are 'Arts, Law and Social Science Unit', 'Science Unit', 'Business Education Unit' and 'Fine Art Unit'. Admission test admit card can be downloaded from Monday 23 December 2024.

In the meeting, the schedule of the admission test in the 'undergraduate program' was fixed. According to the schedule, the admission test for 'Arts, Law and Social Science Unit' will be held on Saturday 25 January 2025, the admission test for 'Science Unit' will be held on Saturday 01 February 2025, the admission test for 'Business Education Unit' will be held on Saturday 08 February 2025 and Admission Test (General Knowledge & Drawing) of 'Fine Arts Unit' will be held on Saturday 04 January 2025. Admission test for all units will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Admission test for 3 units other than 'Arts Unit' will be held in 8 divisional cities including Dhaka.

The departmental centers are Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Barisal University, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh/Kabi Nazrul University Trishal and Begum Rokeya University.

In the meeting, it was decided to take 60 marks in the entrance examination of other units except fine arts unit and 40 marks in written examination. It has been decided to take 40 marks Gouache and 60 marks drawing test only in fine arts unit examination. 30 minutes are allotted for the written examination and 60 minutes for the written examination of the fine arts unit. 45 minutes for written test and 45 minutes for written test of other units. Students will be evaluated on the basis of total 120 marks in the admission test. Out of this, 100 marks will be given in the admission test and 20 marks will be given on the results of secondary/equivalent and higher secondary/equivalent examinations.


Applicants seeking admission must have passed the Secondary/Equivalent examination from 2019 to 2022 and Higher Secondary/equivalent examination from 2024 as a minimum qualification. Examination (including 4th subject) GPA-sum of two minimum 8 and GPA 3.5 separately for 'Science Unit' GPA-sum of two minimum 7.5 and GPA 3 separately for 'Arts, Law and Social Science Unit'. 0, GPA-sum of two minimum 7.5 and GPA 3.0 separately for 'Business Education Unit' and GPA-two sum of minimum 6.5 and GPA 3.0 separately for 'Fine Arts Unit'.
