Ibrahim Khan, Principal Khaleda Habib Memorial lectures held at DU

The 'Principal Ibrahim Khan and Principal Khaleda Habib Memorial Lecture' at Dhaka University was held today, Sunday at Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam was present as the chief guest at the event.
The event was presided over by Dhaka University Treasurer Prof Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, and Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Sarkar spoke as a special guest.

Trust Fund Donor Dr. Mosaddek Habib delivered the welcome address. Retired Professor of the Department of Bangla Dr. Wakil Ahmed delivered a commemorative lecture titled 'Role of Dhaka University Teachers in the July Mass Uprising'. Chairman of the Department of Bangla Professor Dr. Sirajul Islam (Siraj Salekeen) proposed the vote of thanks. Acting Registrar Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed conducted the event.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam paid deep tribute to the memory of Principal Ibrahim Khan and said that he was a prolific writer, teacher and social reformer. His writings reflect the idea of social change. Expressing gratitude to the donors of the trust fund, he said that this scholarship will inspire the students of Dhaka University to study. He thanked Professor Dr. Wakil Ahmed for delivering the memorial speech.
